Trauma Therapy in Oxford for Anxiety, Disconnection and Recurring Patterns
Many of the people who find their way to my practice are thoughtful, capable, and highly functioning in their daily lives. Often, there is already a deep level of self-awareness, yet something still feels unresolved.
This may be experienced as anxiety, chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, disconnection, exhaustion, or recurring patterns in relationships that are difficult to shift.
There is often no lack of understanding. Rather, something in the lived experience of these patterns continues to ask for attention in a different way.
Trauma therapy offers a space to explore these experiences with curiosity, helping to uncover the deeper patterns that may be shaping how you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you.
How I workA Somatic and Trauma-Informed Approach
My work is grounded in the understanding that many of the difficulties we experience are not only held in thoughts or beliefs. They are also reflected in the nervous system, in the body, and in the ways we have learned to adapt to stress, connection, and safety.
Drawing on trauma-informed Craniosacral Therapy, NARM, and other body-based approaches when appropriate, I work with these patterns through curiosity, attentiveness, and respect for pace. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, the emphasis is on supporting greater awareness, regulation, and choice, allowing new possibilities to emerge over time.
How I Understand Healing Trauma
Over the years, both through my professional work and my own experience, I have come to appreciate that healing is rarely a matter of insight alone.
Understanding is important, so is the body, and so is the heart.
When these different dimensions begin to come into contact with one another, something often begins to shift in a way that feels less effortful, and more deeply integrated.
The Head
Making sense of our experiences can bring clarity, perspective, and meaning. For many people, understanding their history is an essential part of healing.
The Body
Trauma is not only remembered; it is also expressed through the nervous system and the body. Learning to listen to these experiences can open access to aspects of experience that thinking alone cannot always reach.
The Heart
Many of our deepest wounds occur in relationship, and many aspects of healing emerge there too. Over time, developing a different relationship with ourselves and with others can create new possibilities for connection and internal safety.
Aleksandra Quintana
My interest in this work is shaped not only by professional training, but also by my own therapeutic journey.
Over time, I came to recognise that different approaches offered different pieces of the puzzle. Understanding brought clarity. Body-based work opened new dimensions of experience. Relational approaches helped make sense of patterns that neither insight nor somatic awareness could fully reach on their own.
This continues to inform how I work today, and has given me a deep respect for both the complexity of healing and the courage it takes to engage with it.

My Approach
My approach brings together trauma-informed Craniosacral Therapy and NARM (the NeuroAffective Relational Model for healing trauma) as its core framework. I also draw on complementary approaches such as ScarWork and Visceral Manipulation when appropriate.
Rather than working with symptoms alone, I am interested in the whole person and the ways each individual has learned to adapt to their life experiences. Sessions are guided by curiosity, attentiveness, and respect for pace. There is no need to force insight or change; instead, the emphasis is on creating conditions in which something new can gradually become possible.
What is NARM® Trauma Work
NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) is a trauma-informed approach designed for developmental trauma, C-PTSD, and chronic stress.
It is anchored in the present moment and doesn’t require reliving past events.
What is Visionary Craniosacral Work®
Visionary craniosacral work is a gentle, hands-on treatment that works with the nervous system. Using light touch, it helps release tension, support regulation, and restore balance in the body.
It may help with anxiety, stress, trauma, and chronic pain.
What is ScarWork®
ScarWork supports the healing of scar tissue from surgery or injury. Even years later, scars can create restriction, numbness, or discomfort.
This work helps restore movement, reduce pain, and reconnect sensation in the area.
What is Visceral Manipulation
Visceral manipulation is a specialised manual therapy that works with the organs (such as the digestive system) to improve mobility and reduce internal tension.
It may help with digestive issues, chronic pain, and restrictions following surgery.

Finding the right therapist is rarely about choosing the perfect approach. More often, it is about finding a relationship that feels safe enough to explore what matters.
